ARTHUR HENRY FORK
Composer / Experimental Guitarrist
With roots in avantgarde sound experimentation, electroacustic / concrete music and improvisation, his approach towards music has always tended for the unorthodox. Ornette Coleman's Harmolodics theory changed his understanding of musical composition and interpretation. Electroacoustic and Concrete music inspired him to experiment with the deconstruction of sound elements, working with espatialization, noise, electronics, the preparation of an instrument, etc., and using all this as part of a composition. And improvisation gave him the freedom to experiment all this in a real time environment.
Working primarily around the exploration of the guitar, for many years his conviction leaned towards creating music through physically afecting his instrument, therefore developing alternate ways to create sound. In the 90's he started to work with electronic media and the guitar, which led him to open source programming on platforms such as MAX/MSP, Pure Data and Super Collider, among others.
He has travel the world wide with his music, living in the U.S.A., Europe, Asia, Africa and México.
And has collaborated with diverse disciplines such as: Theater, Dance, Performance Art, Film and Multimedia Art and his work has been shown in important locations and festivals internationally.
